Sophie Marceau as Jeanne and Monica Bellucci as Jeanne in Marina de Van drama horror 'Don't Look Back.'

Entering the world on November 17, 1966 in the most romantic places on Earth – Paris, France, Sophie Maceau entered the world of showbiz at a very tender age of 14 when Claude Pinoteau cast her in the starring role of a 1980 teen movie, La Boum. She then appeared on the silver screen for the second time in the sequel La Boum 2 that was released two years after La Boum. Her performance in this movie earned her a Cesar Award, which is the French equivalent of an Oscar, for the “Most Promising Actress” category. By age 18, she had another movie-acting gig in the 1984 feature film entitled Fort Saganne where she had the privilege of working with huge French stars such as Gerard Depardieu and Catherine Deneuve. Within the same year, she acted alongside with Jean-Paul Belmondo in Joyeuses Paques in 1984. She then appeared on several Hollywood blockbuster films such as a role in Mel Gibson’s historical epic Braveheart as Princess Isabelle. She also landed a role in A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 1999 and played as a Bond Girl and as the villain Elektra King in the James Bond film, The World is Not Enough, released in 1999.
