She is an only child, and was raised under the strict Domincan upbringing of her father’s sister. When she was in high school, Carole Bouquet enjoyed visiting museums. She was also fond of movies, where she discovered her passion for acting. After graduating from high school, she went to take up philosophy in Sorbonne, but then shifted courses to the Superior Conservatory of Dramatic Art in Paris.

She was immediately cast in his film, Cet obscur objet du désir, in 1977, which featured a sensualist role that sparked the renaissance in French filmmaking. This was followed by The Woman and the Jumping Jack co-starring Angela Molina. Since then, Carole Bouquet has been one of the beautiful faces that captivated the French audiences.

Carole Bouquet hit Hollywood stardom when she became the Bond Girl in For Your Eyes Only opposite Roger Moore in 1981. Because of her performance in the film, this sexy vixen was quickly offered with roles in movies made by well-known directors such as Schroeter in the German film Der Tag de Idioten (The Day of the Idiots), Doubles Masseurs, which was directed by actor John François Stévenin, and the futuristic flick, Bunker Palace Hotel of Bilal. She also starred as Death personified in Bertrand Blier’s Buffet Froid.

In 1985, Carole Bouquet starred opposite actor Gérard Depardieu in the internationally successful film Too Beautiful for You. Also directed by Bertrand Blier, Carole Bouquet played the role of a young beautiful wife of a BMW car dealer who rather cheats on her and makes a love affair with his ordinary looking secretary played by Josiane Balasko. Carole Bouquet won the 1989 Caesar Best Actress Award for her role in the film.

Carole Bouquet went on to star in comedy films such as Tango de Leconte, and Grosse fatigue. She was as well recognized for her roles in Lucie Aubrac in 1997, and Feux Rouges in 2004. Her most recent Hollywood appearance was in the final episode of Sex and the City, where she took on the character of Aleksandr Petrovskys ex-wife, Juliette.

Carole Bouquet was married to well-known director, Jean-Pierre Rassam and stayed with him until his death in 1985. They have a son named Dimitri. In 1997 she began a relationship with former co-star Gérard Depardieu, whom she has worked with several times. They broke up in 2004.
