Lara Stone Biography
Lara Stone was born in a small village just outside of Berlin to a Dutch mother and English father, and raised in the town of Mierlo in the Netherlands. In 1999, at the age of 15, she entered the Elite Model Look contest, and despite not winning the competition, Lara was offered a contract with the prestigious agency. The following year, she was sent away to the fashion capitol of Paris by her mother after getting kicked out of high school. Far from becoming an overnight sensation, Lara Stone's luck finally turned around in 2006, when the IMG Agency signed her. Not long after that, she was given the opening slot at Givenchy's Fall/Winter 2006 haute couture show, and she hasn't looked back since.

Since then, Lara Stone has strutted her stuff down the runway for top designers like Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Valentino, Jean Paul Gaultier, Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs, and Zac Posen. She has also appeared in print campaigns for Calvin Klein Jeans, Absolutely Givenchy fragrance, Just Cavalli jewels, Levi's, and Sisley. Some of the magazine covers she has graced include both Elle and Jalouse out of France, Italy's Ventiquattro, as well as the French, Japanese and Italian editions of Vogue. Elle also featured her, along with Jessica Stam and Gemma Ward, in their Supermodel Generation 2006 spotlight. MODTV selected her as the best model of 2006, while FashionTV named her top model in their First Faces Fall 2007 Countdown.
